Our Registered Dietitian works with the healthcare team to help patients meet their nutrition requirements, address dietary concerns and provide nutrition counseling as needed.
Out-patients
- Our Registered Dietitian provides nutrition counseling related to:
- Diabetes
- Pre-bariatric surgery assessments and bariatric diets
- Cancer
- Prenatal nutrition and gestational diabetes
- Celiac Disease, diverticulosis and other digestive disorders
- Heart failure and other cardiac disease
- Kidney disease
- Weight management (healthy weight loss and weight gain)

Each week, Ray County Hospital and Healthcare’s Registered Dietician will provide a healthy, nutritionally sound recipe for you. This is one more way we’re contributing to the health and wellness of the people we serve.
Trisha Jackson, RDN (Registered Dietician and Nutritionist), LD (Licensed Dietician) is Ray County Hospital and Healthcare’s nutrition and diet consultant.
In addition to the work she does with our in-patients, she provides outpatient nutritional counseling. Ray County Hospital and Healthcare offers private sessions that include in-depth nutrition evaluations, patient education, and help with meal planning. Trisha’s counseling helps individuals manage disease through diet and lead healthier lives.
During nutritional counseling, Trisha will work with you to evaluate your medical history, lab and test results, and diet history to assess your current nutritional status. She’ll work with you to develop a nutritional plan and provide essential diet education. A single consultation typically lasts 45 minutes to an hour.

What is a Registered Dietician?
A Registered Dietician is a food and nutrition expert who has earned the professional designation of RD from the Commission on Dietetic Registration. RDs must also:
- Hold a Bachelor of Science degree, or higher, in Food and Nutrition or related science
- Complete an Internship approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in
- Nutrition and Dietetics
- Obtain state license
- Complete mandatory continuing professional education
