Ray County Hospital and Healthcare provides a caring environment and recognizes the importance of masking to protect our patients, their families and friends. Our masking guidelines are designed to balance the health and benefits of the patients, families, visitors, as well as taking into consideration the public’s health.
The hospital will continue to monitor CDC and OSHA guidelines closely. Should they change, the hospital will make updates and changes as necessary.
All visitors are requested but not required to wear face masks provided by the hospital. While masks are no longer required in every care setting, the hospital still recommends masks. Masks still continue to be a key tool for infection prevention and control. All visitors must be healthy and free from fever and/or respiratory symptoms. Patients with symptoms of illness must wear a mask while inside to protect patients, staff and others.
Masks are still required in some care settings. To keep patients safe, masks are still mandatory in areas that provide care for patients who are at high-risk for infection. Examples include cancer settings and those immunocompromised patients.
Masks requirements may vary by location. Patients and visitors should be prepared to wear a mask while inside the hospital. Areas that require masks will be clearly identified.
Our staff will wear a mask when it is best for patient safety. This includes in areas where patients are prepared for surgery and recovering from surgery. Other examples are in the Oncology Unit and Emergency Room waiting area.
We are sensitive to patient preference and comfort and will put on a mask if you ask. Staff will gladly accommodate your request to mask without any questions.
Please respect those around you who chose to wear a mask. The hospital will continue to encourage masking and will respect those who opt to wear a mask to protect themselves and others.
Visiting hours are from 8am to 8pm. After 8pm, please use the emergency room entrance.
COVID Wing: If you are requesting to visit a patient in isolation due to Covid, please check in at the Nurses’ Station. Visitors are limited to two (2) per hospitalization and must be 14 years of age or older.
