Meet Taryn Plymell: Employee of the Year Nominee

We’re proud to spotlight Taryn Plymell, our Employee of the Year nominee and the heart of our dietary department.

Her Role at Ray County Hospital and Healthcare

Taryn serves as the head cook in our dietary department, where she has made a difference for two years. She started as a dietary aide and has grown into a leadership role, ensuring every patient receives meals that meet their specific dietary needs.

No Two Days Are the Same

When asked about a typical day, Taryn said, “Every day here in the kitchen is different. We never know how calm or busy it may be.” That unpredictability is actually what she loves most about her work. “Each day is different, each patient’s diet and meal is different, and I like that it’s not the same boring routine repeatedly.”

What Drives Her

For Taryn, the work goes beyond preparing meals. “What I love most about my job is my coworkers and helping patients meet their dietary needs every day,” she shares. It’s this combination of teamwork and patient care that keeps her motivated through every shift.

A Well-Deserved Recognition

When she learned about her nomination, Taryn was genuinely surprised. “It is such an honor to be the employee of the year. I really did not expect to be nominated.”
